Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau.

Nate, walking, walking. Me, behind, clicking, clicking.
I got several pics of Nate looking back at me, displeased. He likes to escape my camera, but when
he gets a hold of the camera, he looooves to take lots of knowingly unflattering pictures of me. Silly man.

I sat in the snow here awhile, soaking this all in.

Spectacular place. Much needed dose of nature.
Amazing pictures...
ReplyDeleteI would love to journey up there someday to see some of it in person..we missed you tonight, Marge, Michelle, Holly and I went to Olive Garden for Holly's birthday dinner..crazy how our little group has shrunk (is that the right word..I debated about shrunken :) Hope your night contained some good laughs, even without your wild and crazy friends and former roomies- we were reminiscing about the 'good old days', felt like you shoulda been there too! Love ya, Nora
I just had to laugh at your comment about Nate and a camera. Lanny is the same way. I think the only nice pictures I have of him are the ones from our wedding and our Christmas 2008 card!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your pictures! They're so cool, I really like the one of the rocks in the river. How cold is it up there anyway? These pictures make me think it's about -20! :) Probably nothing to do with all the ice and snow...
ReplyDeleteVery cool pictures!
ReplyDeleteHey Nora, Oh crazy! I was getting a little nostalgic about those "good old days" in apartment-ville with you girls. :) You are thoughtful to write.
ReplyDeleteJill-- Do you think they're related!!?? :) . . . I know the whole arguing/ teasing as a form of affection, too.
Joan & Jennifer,
Thanks! It is consistently between 32-45 degrees in southeast ak. Pretty mild compared to the more north and even to the midwest! Keep warm, think spring.
i love the blue tints among the whites of the snow and ice---it looks so ethereal.

Wow. Are those colors in the first and last photos for real??? I don't even have a word to describe them...other than WOW.
ReplyDeleteI agree w/ Laura, WOW. That sure would take a few minutes to absorb. You'll never regret your adventure up there, and thanks for sharing!
