Indian River Falls (Sitka Alaska Photographer}

Having lived in Sitka for about two years now, this is the first time I've hiked this trail.
It's not just a quick hike, but very doable when you have some time.

Katrina and I admired the beautiful blue color of the river, all 4.5 miles to the falls.

And, the falls! Apparently, they were a mere "trickle" of water, compared to their usual robust output of water, but still very pretty, and worth the hike!

Yahoo, we made it into the photo!

I brought my SLR, but didn't use it once because had so much fun taking photos with my new little "point & shoot", a bright yellow Olympus Shockproof/waterproof camera.
I used landscape mode and a gorillapod (flexible mini tripod) which helped slow the shutter speed so the falls could blend more, as point and shoots don't have a lot of manual controls.
I was fairly impressed with the power of the little camera, though!

{Now, let's hope it holds up for snorkeling photos in Hawaii!}
Guess we will find out in a few days. :)

Oliver: "That's Auntie. How's she gonna get back?" when I showed him the first picture...;) I told him that she'd walk. Have a great time in Hawaii!
