Strange Fruit from Hawai'i

Aloha, again!
Hope everyone out there is doing well.
I've taken a nearly three week Sabbatical from the internet and computer world.

I detached. It feels good.

Hawai'i is a beautiful place.
We went to the "Big Island" first.
While it is too late now to post everything;
{and having suffered a few computer crashes---
(I am seriously thinking about investing in a Mac-any insights?)----}
I hope to post a plethora of photos soon.

A preview:
Nate and Jerm found some pretty wild looking fruits at the Hilo Market.
And we all ate them! They were good.

And just for fun,
the first person {who wants to} to write the correct name of this fruit in the comments section will receive a free print from a past or future photo session (up to 11 x 14)!

Make sure I know who you are if you want to be eligible :)

And can't resist: Mahalo for your participation.

Welcome back to Alaska! I can't wait to see the rest of your pictures from Hawaii!! My dear sweet Allie decided she wasn't tired so here I am, up at 2:30 reading your blog. : ) And searching for the name of that crazy looking fruit! Is it a rambutan?

rambutan, I agree with Trisha- too bad I wasn't up in the middle of the night to compete with her for the prize! How did it taste?
I have been waiting (impatiently) to see your photos of Hawaii!!!

man - one has to stay up late or wake up early to compete around here. Since they already guessed the rambutan, I'll throw in the close relative Pulasan and just hope. hahahah!

No fair...I should get extra points as I even tasted those in Kauai.:-) The insides are along the lines of grapes...or, at least that's what the ones I tasted were like. Helen

Don't give me too much credit - unless we're awarding Google skills. LOL

I'm with Sharyn on the google skills award...so perhaps I'll have to pass on the prize to the first person who knew the answer without looking it up. But, it really would be fun to schedule a photo session with you someday. And getting a free large print would be a bonus!
