Bret, Kate, and Braedon {Sitka Photographer}

Despite the bear infestation in town and bear sightings nearby this beach,
we went out and did a photo session anyways!
The lighting was perfect. The tiniest glimmer of sun and a nice blanket of fog on the ocean to diffuse the light.

Braedon is 9 months old!
This is such a crazy fun, busy age. (Just from having photographed a couple of other babies of this age !)

Since Bret and Kate have spent so many summers in Sitka, it makes sense to take some portraits here!

I hate "posy-posy" {heavily posed} shots (although sometimes fun and necessary) so I usually just shoot as they are . . . with maybe a tiny bit of direction. :)

If you look closely, you can see the salmon jumping! They were everywhere!
But now the rain has come again, so hopefully the streams will fill up again so the salmon can swim upstream and take the bears away from town.
{Can you believe Sitka's been having a "mild drought" . . .??!!}

Let's try here . . . see how long he will cooperate :)

I think this is my fave:

This is the age where they get caught eating anything and everything:

including my camera! {good thing I have a back-up}

That's all folks! And we're off . . .

Thanks for a fun session, guys. So glad it worked out!!!

Nothing like some camera therapy . . .
Nothing like "soaking in the freedom you feel from doing something you love". . .
{I took that quote from this photographer's blog . . . (yes, I am a photography blog stalker!)}

Enjoy.

and Hi from the tiny village of Metlakatla, Alaska, where I am working this week.
Bet you can't find it on the map!

These shots are awesome, Jen! Their little guy sure is cute.

You can't help but smile when you see that second photo! (At the top, with all of them.)

I love the fog in these, too. It's a great back drop.
